About Foundations ABA and Autism Consulting, LLC

Hi! My name is Stephanie Shrock and I am the owner, operator, and BCBA at Foundations ABA. I graduated with my masters in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus in Autism from Ball State University in 2011 and went on to receive my board certification in May 2015. I have been in the ABA field for 15 years, starting as an ABA therapist and working my way up to a director and then a BCBA. I have worked with clients ranging from 2 to 56 years of age across multiple environments, including clinic, community, and school-based services.

My specialties include Functional Communication Training and behavior reduction for the early intervention population (kids between 18 months and 5 years of age). I love to identify a functional mode of communication for a child and then teaching them how to use it effectively to communicate their wants and needs.

There is nobody in this world you love more than your child. Being a mom, I understand that, and it motivated me to help parents whose parenting journey can be a little more challenging than for others, such as those parenting children with ASD.

Our goal is to provide tools, resources, and support to help your Child thrive.

Through individualized ABA strategies and compassionate collaboration, we equip families with practical tools that create meaningful change. Together, we build a foundation for long-term success and confidence.

Take the first step toward progress

We’re here for you, Hendricks County – Every step Of the Way!

I’m passionate about serving the Hendricks County area because I have lived as a part of this community for the past 15 years. My husband and I bought our first home in Avon in 2010 and started growing our family a couple of years later.

I am an active member of the community as I attend and volunteer at our local church and as an assistant softball coach with the AYS. Two of our kids attend one of the Avon elementary schools and our oldest is at Avon South. All of our kids participate in either AYS or school sports all year long. Now I want to serve and give back to my community by providing quality ABA therapy services for children with autism and their families.

Our Commitment to Ethical, Family-Centered Care

“Foundations ABA Way” – Eight Guiding Principles

  • Always prioritize interventions that produce socially significant improvements in communication, school readiness, independence, and quality of life for the child and family.
  • Use evidence-based methods, clear data, and ongoing progress monitoring to decide what to continue, change, or discontinue.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Design programs and environments that are physically safe, trauma‑informed, and emotionally respectful, avoiding coercive or humiliating practices.
  • Treat every child and caregiver with dignity, assuming competence and speaking about them with respect—in meetings, in documentation, and in casual staff talk.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Involve caregivers, schools, and other providers as true partners in assessment, goal selection, and treatment decisions.
  • Practice cultural humility: seek to understand each family’s language, routines, and values, and adapt goals and teaching approaches accordingly.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Communicate honestly about what ABA can and cannot do, expected timelines, and the basis for your clinical decisions (data, research, and ethics code).
  • Document accurately, bill ethically, avoid conflicts of interest, and hold yourself and staff accountable to the BACB Ethics Code and state regulations.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Provide services only within your scope of competence, and ensure supervisors and RBTs are trained, supported, and adequately supervised.
  • Invest in ongoing learning: supervision quality, advanced training in verbal behavior, interdisciplinary collaboration, and up‑to‑date knowledge of ASD and behavioral health.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Strive for equitable access to services across insurance types, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultural communities, consistent with your Indiana payer mix.
  • Apply consistent, fair criteria for accepting clients, wait‑list management, and resource allocation, and avoid discrimination in any form.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Use clear data (behavioral, educational, and parent‑reported) to guide changes in programming, but anchor those decisions to family values and long‑term life outcomes, not just short‑term metrics.
  • Explicitly link goals to what families say matters most: school success, communication, independence, mental health, and relationships.

Example: “We recommend and keep only those goals that make a meaningful difference in the child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.”

  • Build an internal culture where staff feel psychologically safe to raise ethical concerns, ask for help, and admit errors without fear of retaliation.
  • Lead with a clear mission and shared values, and align policies (productivity, scheduling, documentation expectations) with ethical care—not just volume.

We’ve had an amazing experience with foundations ABA. Stephanie is great, her whole staff is incredibly caring, professional, and knowledgeable, and they truly take the time to understand my daughter’s needs. From day one, communication has been clear and consistent, and we’ve always felt supported and informed about progress and goals. The therapists are patient, compassionate, and genuinely invested in helping children succeed. We’ve seen meaningful growth, not only in skills but also in confidence. My daughter loves dressing up, they made her a whole wardrobe with a beauty salon. I cannot say enough about them. My daughter is in school now and I can’t thank them enough. I highly recommend this center to any family looking for high-quality ABA services in a warm and supportive environment.

Foundations ABA is one of the best ABA centers I have worked with. The owner and BCBA, Stephanie, is amazing at what she does. She truly cares about her clients and goes to bat for them. She is extremely dedicated and has amazing results in helping children with autism find their voice and learn how to cope with stressful situations.

When seeking a facility 2 years ago, I chose Foundations ABA clinic over so many others that I consulted with because of the specialized and personalized attention to my son’s care & support I felt from the beginning. The owner, Stephanie, and her staff have proven multiple times how well they know their field, helped navigate changes to my son’s care plan, coordinated with the school, educated our family, and most importantly put my son’s education and best interest 1st. There is nothing passive about the approach the team takes. Active and thorough communication at all levels has been consistent and cohesive. We have witnessed so many leaps in speech, behaviors, and social relationships in my son since entrusting his care plan to Stephanie and her team.

Our daughter has thrived since beginning her ABA journey at foundations. We have been there over a year and have seen so much progress. She is a level 3, non verbal girly. They have gone above and beyond in all aspects of her diagnosis and have integrated work from her outpatient therapies into her clinic work. I have a background in the field of ABA and was very picky on where my daughter would attend and they have not disappointed us. I couldn’t find the hands on treatment she receives at a larger clinic if I tried. They’re so very personable and really do care about each and every kiddo. I couldn’t trust anyone else.

Foundations ABA was instrumental in our son's overall well being over the past year. He's fully potty trained, he's able to tolerate a lot more than he used to, and he's able to communicate what he needs with his words rather than his behavior. He's also much happier than he used to be and enjoys being around other children more. Our family is extremely grateful for Stephanie and her team, as they have given us the ability to do things as a family we would have struggled to do otherwise. Highly recommend checking Foundations ABA out if you are looking for quality therapy options for your child.

Foundation ABA has been a life-changing place for our family. When my son first started, he could barely speak and struggled with communication and social skills. Thanks to the incredible team at Foundation ABA, he is now learning patience, forming friendships, and knows his letters and numbers! The progress he’s made is truly amazing. The staff are not only professional, but incredibly caring and supportive. They’ve treated my son like family and have celebrated every small and big win with us. I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done—we couldn’t have asked for a better environment for him to grow and thrive. Thank you, Foundation ABA! 💙
